This garden design caters to a busy working couple with an 11-year-old son and an energetic dog, offering a serene, low-maintenance sanctuary for relaxation and entertaining. The space blends natural, Mediterranean and tropical aesthetics with evergreen planting, bold perennials, and climbing greenery for year-round appeal and privacy. Option 1 retains existing railway sleepers, removes the trellis, and revitalizes the current fencing with dark grey paint, complemented by lush planting and statement planters. Option 2 proposes a more substantial transformation with new fencing, curved corten steel retaining walls for expanded planting, and a refined layout. Both options include a dining area with a stylish table for six, an Ooni pizza oven, and integrated ambient lighting for day-to-evening use. The design reflects the family’s style, provides a dog- and child-friendly environment, and creates a natural, inviting space to unwind or entertain, all while remaining easy to maintain throughout the seasons.
